Salone del Mobile 2022

Voice to an inclusive, young, and sustainable “Salone”

The Salone del Mobile has returned – three years later – to its full and traditional form, occupying the entire exhibition space of Fiera Milano, in Rho. This year’s marks the 60th edition and the Italian President of the Republic wanted to define it as follows: “After the suffered restrictions due to the pandemic, this 60th edition marks the return to an appointment of absolute importance in a significant sector of the national economy and a leading element of Made in Italy. It is an affirmation of courage and tenacity that should be appreciated.”

Courage and tenacity led the companies of Federlegnoarredo to get back together for this appointment and, as a result, the pavilions were full of enthusiastic professional visitors and buyers. Numbers were above expectations: 2.173 companies, 27% of which were foreign and 600 attendees at Salone Satellite.

The Salone is once again a crossroads of cultures, even during this complex conjuncture: inevitably Chinese and Russian presences were limited, but with great effort and cosmopolitan enthusiasm, visitors from all over the world have come to Milan, especially from India, Korea, and Middle Eastern countries.

The Salone del Mobile has therefore chosen to become the vehicle for Milan’s global momentum, in constant communication with the mayor, the prefecture and all the institutional actors involved in sewing a dress for Milan’s new international role.

At Barabino & Partners, during these months, we have stood by and decisively supported this path that starts from tradition to define a new future, intersecting the beauty and innovation of the wood-furniture supply chain and the furniture sector with the creativity and international design of which Salone del Mobile is a symbol, as well as with sustainability, both environmental and social.

Sustainability is indeed the focal point of this 60th edition. As Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile, said at the opening of the event, “Salone del Mobile is a worldwide event, a symbol of Italy that brings together the best international excellence to present it to the world. It is made of the commitment and effort of thousands of people who, with passion and with their work, build unprecedented projects giving back to the world the value of beauty, the culture of design and the deeper meaning of the word design. t will be an inclusive, young, sustainable Salone: the Salone del Mobile first and foremost believes in the value of sustainability and has decided to continue the path started with the Supersalone.”

Not surprisingly, Claudio Feltrin, FederlegnoArredo president, announced that FederlegnoArredo is the first supply chain in the world in the sector whose adherence to the Global Compact has been ratified by the United Nations: “It is a strategic step that is part of the path started by the Federation with the Decalogue ‘sustainability at the centre’ and that will take shape on June 27 2022 in Milan with the presentation of targeted and measurable projects, during the FederlegnoArredo assembly.”

We at Barabino & Partners, once again and as always, are proudly part of this Made in Italy communication path, which winds – through quality, beauty, and sustainability – towards new international dimensions.
