Barabino & Partners UK Celebrates its 15th Anniversary

On the evening of the 1st of March 2023, Barabino & Partners celebrated the success of the first 15 years of operations in the United Kingdom. On this special occasion, we partnered with the Embassy of Italy in London to host a panel discussion on the evolution of media in Italy and the UK. The event was held at the Ambassador’s residence in Mayfair and featured notable media personalities from both countries.

The panel was chaired by Deborah Bonetti, Director of the Foreign Press Association in London. Protagonists in the discussion included Francesco Guerrera, Global Economics Editor for Reuters Breakingviews; Francine Lacqua, Bloomberg TV Anchor and Editor-at-Large; Silvia Sciorilli Borrelli, Milan Correspondent for the Financial Times; Luigi Ippolito, London Correspondent for Corriere della Sera; and Andrea Scotti Calderini, Co-Founder and CEO of Freeda Media.

Following the opening remarks by H.E. Inigo Lambertini, Italian Ambassador to the UK, and Pietro Como, Partner and Managing Director of Barabino & Partners UK, a 45-minute roundtable conversation saw the guests exchange opinions and share experiences on some of the most important aspects of the current state of Italian and British media.

During the exchange of ideas, the media personalities discussed the current state of traditional and new media in their respective countries, sharing their experiences and opinions on the business side of the industry. The audience, which included representatives from financial, corporate, media, and institutional establishments from Italy and the UK, was allowed a peek behind the curtains on ways in which media can look to be profitable without sacrificing the quality of information.

The collaboration between Barabino & Partners UK and the Embassy of Italy is a testament to our role as a central pillar of the Italian community in the UK. The event highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration and, as we turn 15 years old, we remain committed to supporting Italian companies in their internationalization processes.

H.E. Inigo Lambertini, Italian Ambassador to the UK, commented “Italy and the UK have long-standing cultural and historical ties, and the media industries in our countries share many similarities as well as profound differences. By bringing together authoritative representatives from different types of media and markets, we can gain a more comprehensive understanding of how the media landscapes in Italy and the UK have evolved over the past decade and if a coexistence of more traditional and disruptive media is possible. I believe this insightful and nuanced discussion is the best way to celebrate Barabino & Partners on their significant milestone, as well as journalism and media in general, with which diplomacy is tightly intertwined in the understanding of today’s world.”

In light of this milestone, Luca Barabino, Chairman and CEO of Barabino & Partners Group, added “Over the years, our team in London has demonstrated their ability to develop connections between Italy and the UK, with a distinct awareness of the unique aspects of both markets as well as a relational empathy for the target geographies, helping to build our brand and extend our reach across Europe. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we remain committed to communicating the values and beauty of the Made in Italy by supporting Italian companies in their internationalization processes. We are confident that our continued international expansion will create new opportunities for our employees, partners, and clients alike, and we look forward to sharing this exciting new chapter with all of you.”
